Help provide qualifying individuals and families with winter coats and attire by donating to the Annual Share the Warmth Coat Drive. Monetary donations and new or gently used clothing are now being accepted through October 14th.
Due to economic changes within the community, Operation Threshold is working with local organizations such as KCRG TV 9 and the Salvation Army to provide winter coats to any eligible individual. Last year, 87 coats were given to eligible individuals in Buchanan County, yet six children were turned away due to insufficient sizing. Children’s coats are in high demand from infant to size 12.
Donations can be dropped off at Operation Threshold’s Independence site at 1707 1stStreet East, in Independence. The coats will be distributed October 17th – October 21st. For further information regarding the Share the Warmth Coat Drive located in Independence, feel free to contact Brenda Curry-Thompson, Buchanan County Coordinator, at (319) 334-6081.
