Grundy County, Iowa (October 3, 2011): Between March 1st and April 30th, Operation Threshold participated in the Feinstein Challenge with the goal of increasing donations to the Grundy County Food Pantry. Thanks to our generous donors and the Feinstein Foundation Challenge, Operation Threshold’s Grundy County Food Pantry took in more than twice the donations between March 1st and April 30th, when compared to previous months.
This year, during the Feinstein Challenge, the Feinstein Foundation assisted the Grundy County Food Pantry with inspiring awareness and giving. During the 2011 Feinstein Challenge, 55 donors were moved to give $5,271.12 worth of food and monetary donations to the pantry.
The Grundy County Food Pantry is very grateful for all donations. The growing importance of local donations becomes apparent as the need continues to rise. Last year, the food pantry assisted 638 individuals, a 53% increase over the previous year.
Donations are accepted year-round. To find out more information about donating to Operation Threshold’s Grundy County Food Pantry, contact Christine Tobias, (319) 824-3460.
