Grundy County Share The Warmth Coat Drive Begins

Due to economic changes, many individuals and children in Grundy County are in need of new and gently used winter outerwear.  Operation Threshold’s Share the Warmth program helps meet this need.

Donations of new or gently used winter items including coats, snow pants, boots, hats, and mittens/gloves are now being accepted by Operation Threshold. Children’s waterproof mittens, winter boots and coats in adult sizes (up to 2X and 3X)

are in high demand.  Through its Share the Warmth program, last year Operation Threshold was able to provide 82 children with winter coats and outerwear.

Grundy County residents, in need of winter apparel this season, are encouraged to contact Operation Threshold to schedule an appointment. Grundy Center’s office, which is located at 1606 G Avenue, is open from 8:00 AM-12PM and 12:30PM-4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Finally, due to a lack of space, Grundy County’s Operation Threshold office will no longer be taking donations of clothing/shoes/and/or household items for distribution to clients.  We would like to thank all the county residents who have donated those items in the past.  Many families have greatly benefitted from your generosity.  In addition, with the opening of the Trinkets and Togs store in Grundy Center, we are confident that families in need will still be able to have access to the items they need.
